Finding the Right Position for Better Pelvic Floor Training

Dr. Sarah Keller · 18 June 2026 · 6 min read · 226 views

Pelvic floor trainers work best when your body is aligned and relaxed. Small adjustments to how you sit or lie can improve muscle engagement and comfort.

Start seated or reclined

Many beginners find a semi-reclined position easiest because it reduces tension in the hips and lower back. Keep knees slightly bent and breathe steadily.

Focus on controlled contractions

Quality matters more than intensity. Hold each contraction for a few seconds, release fully, and build up gradually across several weeks.
